On Wednesday, January 15 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Hard Rock will host a private screening of short film “We Ride For Her” followed by a panel discussing the connection between human trafficking and MMIW.

The documentary was produced by Red Sand Project and tells the experiences of Medicine Wheel Ride, an indigenous women motorcyclist group whose mission is to honor and remember MMIW. It chronicles the group’s recent journey from Sturgis, South Dakota, where the largest motorcycle rally in the U.S. takes place each year, to raise awareness of stolen sisters, mothers, grandmothers, aunts and two-spirit relatives whose missing persons cases are often overlooked.

The panel will be moderated by Durante Blais-Billie (Seminole Tribe of Florida) with speakers including film co-director Prairie Rose Seminole (Northern Cheyenne, Arikara, and Dakota), co-chairwoman & co-founder of Medicine Wheel Ride and navy veteran Lorna Cuny (Oglala Sioux), Molly Gochman (Executive Producer of We Ride for Her), CEO of PACT Lori Cohen and VP of global social responsibility at Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming, Paul Pellizzari. The discussion will highlight the collective strength, resilience and commitment to ending this epidemic of violence.

Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming will donate $10,000 to Medicine Wheel Ride, with 100% of donations directly benefiting families impacted by the MMIW crisis and supporting related research.

Donating Change for Change from Casino Guests

This January, for the third year in a row, Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming will raise funds to combat human trafficking through its Change for Change program. Participating casino properties will encourage guests to donate any change from cash tickets to the Hard Rock Heals Foundation at select Everi & NRT kiosks with all change contributions going to the Hard Rock Heals Foundation to support PACT (Protect All Children From Trafficking).

Around Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock will amplify the campaign from nonprofit organization It’s a Penalty in a partnership that unites the tourism industry, athletes, sports governing bodies & hosting committees, local & international NGOs, governments, corporations and law enforcement on the mission to eradicate human trafficking. “It’s a Penalty” promotes the detrimental consequences of human trafficking, both the emotional and physical abuse for victims & survivors and in the justice system for perpetrators.

Ongoing Team Member Training & Victim Support

As active members of the American Gaming Association’s Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce, Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming are dedicated to educating the public about the signs of trafficking, available support for survivors and methods to report suspected exploitation. This includes the completion of over 78,000 training sessions by team members at hotels and casinos since 2022. The training addresses how to recognize signs of trafficking and what steps to take.

In addition, Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming have kept Twentyfour-Seven QR code stickers in 44 hotels and casinos across 13 countries to provide critical information and support to those who need it, while also deterring traffickers from targeting individuals on the properties.

The event featured Hard Rock executives and partners, state and local officials, local community members, and business and civic leaders, and was followed by the casino officially opening its doors to the public at noon.

Located at 500 Gate City Highway in Bristol, the 620,000-square-foot resort features nearly 1,500 slot machines, more than 50 table games, a sportsbook, 300-plus hotel rooms and seven unique dining options, including a signature Hard Rock Cafe. The venue also offers a 2,000-plus seat Hard Rock Live, Rock Shop, designated non-smoking and high limit gaming areas, authentic music memorabilia and more.

The Global Sound Waves sustainability partnership with Ocean Conservancy builds upon the ongoing work of Save The Planet sustainability teams at local Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming properties.

By focusing on the upstream management of water and food waste, as well as material waste, the campaign helps to promote waste audits that identify alternatives and diversion opportunities, while emphasizing how data informs the company's goal-setting for waste reduction.

From September through November 2024, the campaign produced four waves:

  • Team Member Education: Over 230 employees participated in a global trivia event to build the knowledge and skills that can make a difference. Six winners emerged from various locations, including Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City and Hard Rock Hotel Goa.

  • Operational Waste Innovation Competition: A contest produced 45 submissions from front-line employees across Europe, Asia and North America, who identified innovative solutions to reduce waste. The first-place winner was Jair Alexander Lopez Espericueta from Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta. Second and third place winners were Shanda Howard from Hard Rock Cafe Waikiki and Hanna Stensland from Hard Rock Cafe Tromso.

  • Donation Campaigns: Funds from Hard Rock Casinos' 'Change For Change' program in October 2024 raised $75,000 for Ocean Conservancy. Gamers donated change from redeemed gaming vouchers to the Hard Rock Heals Foundation to benefit Ocean Conservancy's mission to protect the ocean from today's greatest global challenges and create evidence-based solutions for a healthy ocean and the wildlife and communities that depend on it.

Lionel Messi made a superhero-sized surprise event appearance for families and special guests gathered yesterday in the Hard Rock Cafe at the company's flagship Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, Fla. property. After local children from the West Broward School of Rock showed off their musical talents, Captain Messi came to life in a custom superhero animated video. Then Lionel Messi magically appeared on stage in a Hard Rock Captain Messi t-shirt, struck superhero poses and answered some fun questions.

"My kids and I love watching superhero movies together, so it was really special to work with Hard Rock to create Captain Messi," said Lionel Messi. "I hope it helps inspire young fans and families to work hard and believe in themselves to do great things."

Event guests dined on popular Hard Rock menu items including a selection of Messi-designed burgers and chicken sandwiches for adults and kids. They were the first to enjoy the two new additions to the Hard Rock Kid's Menu: cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza, providing more delicious meals that parents can endorse and kids crave. The Hard Rock Kid's Menu includes a variety of options for all palettes from grilled chicken salad and fresh fruit to chicken tenders and the new pizzas.
